Employment and training

Our employment and training team provides confidential, impartial information and advice and guidance to local residents who are looking for work, are under-employed in their job or wish to take up opportunities to learn. We also build relationships with employers to help secure vacancies for local residents.

How the team can help
The team provides

• careers guidance
• information, advice and resources on learning and work
• job search facilities
• CV advice
• CV writing
• filling in application forms and cover letters
  
• interview preparation
• introduction to computer use
• referrals to
  - vocational or basic skills training courses such as ESOL or ICT
  - other sources of advice and guidance such as legal, welfare, benefits or debt advice
  - other providers of employment advice services that help with specialist needs
  

The team operate mainly from Trussler Hall, Grundy Street but also do outreach from the Burdett, Aberfeldy and Linc Centres. You can access this service by appointment but also on a drop in a basis. Please see advice session timetable for details.

The service is free and open to people aged 16-64 but we expect clients to keep us informed of positive progressions so we can document our work. We also have a complaints procedure.
