Lansbury

Various activities and events are run from a number of venues on the Lansbury Estate. We recently refurbished Trussler Hall, which now has a gallery, office space and hall for hire. The Chinese elders luncheon club meet here four times a week.

The other venues are 5 Alton Street and Hind Grove community hall. You can get housing advice at our head office (167a East India Dock Road)
There is a stay and play toy library for parents, carers and children at Hind Grove.

- traffic goes slower
- pedestrians are given priority
- the area looks attractive
- children have somewhere to play

New fruit and veg co-op

A new co-op was launched at the Hind Grove Community Hall on the 7 March. Buy your fresh fruit and veg weekly at the co-op every Tuesday at 11am at at Lansbury Lodge.

Black and ethnic minority health guides and Healthy Lansbury project
A project promoted by local residents for local residents, which aims to improve lifestyles and promote healthy eating and living on Lansbury.
Activities include:
- community health stall at Chrisp St health surgery every Monday 10am-12pm
- healthy walking club for all and women-only swimming to start soon
- fruit smoothie session
- regular door-to door outreach to support vulnerable members of the community
- health promotion events
