Lincoln
The Linc Centre delivers a wide range of community regeneration activities. We specialise in providing a range of services within the heart of the community, from housing surgeries to youth services.
Within our timetable we provide a wide selection of vocational, social, recreational, and welfare groups and sessions to cater for the varied and diverse residents in the area. These include Ageing Well, Next Step for Women, senior and junior youth groups, exercise and aerobics, advice and guidance and IT. Our dedicated staff also deliver a range of employment and training initiatives to offer support around job searches, filling in application forms, interview techniques and benefit related issues.
A crucial part of these activities are those we run for young people. The Linc Centre staff have built strong and creative relationships with the young people in the area and run a wide range of programmes, from youth exchanges to IT classes to music and DJ Training. We also run daily youth clubs with activities that encourage children to take responsibility for their own development and use their enthusiasm, energy and knowledge to accomplish personal goals.
All our activities contain an element of IT and Internet awareness, which has resulted in an improved standard of IT skills.
We also run a volunteering programme to give people the opportunity to get involved in community work and gain valuable experience.
We work closely with local residents, in particular the Lincoln Area Regeneration Group (LARG), formed of 12 residents. Their primary focus is to bring prosperity and economic, environment and social changes to the Lincoln and Bromley Area. They work with the Linc Centre to deliver various projects for other local community groups, such as the Lincoln Hall Playgroup, Next Step for Women, Ageing Well and Bow Common Bangladeshi Cultural Association.
