Gas servicing
Poplar HARCA is committed to total gas safety for our residents and our processes and procedures will help us deliver this. We have a comprehensive Gas Policy and Procedures. We service all of the gas appliances and systems installed by us as well as carry out gas safety checks on all tenants’ appliances, including cookers.
We deliver a quality service achieving very high access levels to our tenants’ homes to carry out gas servicing. This is aided by our sensitive, assertive approach to managing and monitoring ‘no access’ cases.
We are flexible about the times when servicing can be completed, which helps to ensure all checks are completed prior to the legal 12-month deadline. In over 99% of homes, a service is completed before the CP12 expires.
Please help us to keep your gas appliances safe by allowing our contractor prompt access each year to service your boiler and gas fire.
We will service all gas installations annually to make sure they are working safely. When an appointment is made to get this done, you must allow access to our contractor.
You must not tamper with these appliances in any way.
Gas leaks
If you suspect a gas leak you must:
- turn off the gas supply at the control valve
- put out all naked flames
- report it to Transco 0800 111 999 and to us 0800 328 0970
- do not smoke or use matches
- do not turn on or off any electrical switches
- open doors and windows. Leave your home if necessary but make sure access is available.
