Get involved

One of our strengths is that we are a resident-led organisation in which local residents make up the biggest group on our main board. We have a large programme in place to make sure residents are involved at every level of decision-making and that residents views are behind everything we do.

We have a resident empowerment support team (REST) to support residents so that they have the skills and capability to fully take part in making decisions. The REST team provide a range of ways to make this happen.

Resident directors represent leaseholders at every level of decision-making on our main board. There is a Leaseholder Policy Advisory Group (LPAG) that specifically focuses on leaseholder issues, and this is a vital part of how we  run our organisation.

Outside the formal framework there are also regular open meetings, focus groups and events aimed specifically at getting you views and feedback.

If you would like to find out more about the range of ways you can be please phone our resident empowerment support team on 020 7510 0505 or email fintan.tynan@poplarharca.co.uk.

Equality and diversity

We are committed to providing equal opportunities and recognising the differences in peoples nationalities, political or religious opinions, race, age, sex, sexuality or disabilities.

We are against both direct and indirect discrimination and will try at all times to promote equality and diversity issues and good practice in all our work.

All resident groups agree to formally put in place and keep to our equality and diversity policy. We are committed to providing training to both staff and residents to help them to understand this policy.

In line with our policy on diversity, all resident groups try to reflect the community they represent. Residents groups will take positive steps to encourage under-represented groups to get involved and will use opportunities such as vacant positions on the board to actively involve under-represented groups.
