Get involved in the Poplar Festival!
26 August 2011Get ready for the festival on 17 September by joining in some fun activities on 3 and 10 September in Chrisp Street Market.
On both Saturdays you can
- enjoy live music;
- get a jive dancing lesson;
- join workshops to create beautiful banners for the festival parade;
- find out how to showcase your dancing skills in the dynamic festival dance;
- and even take a ride on a rickshaw!
All the activities are free and organised by local housing association Poplar HARCA who are hosting Poplar Festival 2011.
Steve Stride, Chief Executive of Poplar HARCA, said:
“Poplar Festival celebrates our festival of Britain heritage, the future of our area and most importantly our fantastic community. Our warm up events in Chrisp Street Market are a chance for people to get involved in what promises to be a great day.”
Poplar Festival takes place at 1pm, 17 September at Bartlett Park. The Festival begins with a vibrant parade leaving Chrisp Street Market at 12pm.
