Senior managers are going back to the floor
06 March 2008Poplar HARCA's senior managers are going 'back to the floor' to experience how we deliver services on the front line. Joan Murphy, Strategic Director of Operations, was first up and got voted by staff to be a customer service officer for two days.
After training Joan put on the uniform and spent time on our reception desks helping residents who came into the office. She also handled the post and did admin tasks for other staff members.
Joan reported that what she experienced on those days will help us improve our services, because she saw first hand what works and what doesn't. For example the time it took up to look up a residents' details could be done faster if our IT system was improved.
Kevin Wright, Director of Technical Service, is up next and votes are coming in thick and fast for him to do a cleaning job.
