Poplar HARCA is holding a local photography competition to celebrate our tenth anniversary.

Poplar HARCA is holding a local photography competition to celebrate our tenth anniversary.

The competition is open to all Poplar residents, who are invited to submit photos of the people and places that reflect or are inspired by the Poplar community.

Entry is free and the best photos will be chosen for public exhibition at the Bow Arts Nunnery Gallery from 11-17 December 08. Digital cameras will be awarded for the best entries in three age groups:

Under 16s

16- 25 year olds

25 plus

A series of free workshops are being hosted at our neighbourhood centre's for residents to get technical tips from a professional photographer. The next one takes place on Monday 14 November at the Linc Centre. To reserve a place phone Laura on 020 7538 5748.

Steve Stride, Chief Executive of Poplar HARCA, said:

"Photo 10 celebrates the people and places that makes Poplar the strong vibrant community it is today. It is an opportunity for our residents to showcase their creative talent and communicate why Poplar is special to them. I'm looking forward to the unveiling of the pictures at the Bow Arts nunnery gallery on the 11 December 08."

Deadline for entry is Monday 24 November. Application forms are available at our neighbourhood centres and head office.
