Restorative Justice brings the people affected by crime together to talk about what happened and find a way to repair the harm. It can involve a meeting between the offender and victim, or a meeting between the offender and a panel of community members.
The offender learns first-hand how their actions have affected others, and offers to make amends. They are less likely to re-offend as a result. Victims are able to cope better and feel safer.
