The Love Summer programme takes place at St Paul’s Way Centre from 22 July to 1 September.
Delivered by the First Love Foundation, in support with Poplar HARCA, it’s aimed at families on low income dealing with the financial pressures of keeping children entertained and fed during the summer holidays. This can be an incredibly difficult time.
Love Summer is an opportunity for the whole family to enjoy two days a week worry free during the six week holiday.
The programme will include healthy and nutritious breakfasts, lunches and various activities for children.
Parents will be offered a series of support workshops tailored to help them achieve their rebuilding goals.
The programme aims to transform the lives and residents of 45 of the most vulnerable and hard-to-reach families.
Poplar HARCA Cafes will be leading on the food service delivery, closing its Bow Brew Café and preparing up to 200 meals per day.
‘At the Community Development and Wellbeing team, we are excited to support First Love Foundation and work closely on a holiday hunger programme that will benefit so many families and tackle food insecurity holistically“.
Kosru Uddin – Assistant Director, Community Development and Wellbeing
