Mental health support in the pandemic

Many of us are struggling with our mental health as we deal with the extra emotional strains imposed upon us during the pandemic. Some of us may be at increased risk of domestic abuse too.

None of us need to struggle alone. If you, or someone you know, needs help, there’s lots of free support in Tower Hamlets and nationwide.

Health Spot

A GP service dedicated to the wellbeing of young people aged 11-19, or up to aged 25 for people with additional needs.

Safeguarding team

Our safeguarding team is here for residents who may need extra support. This includes, but is not limited to, domestic abuse, mental health, elder abuse, adults with additional needs and hoarding.

You can contact the team by calling 020 7510 0500 and ask to speak to the Safeguarding team.

Telephone befriending service

A friendly chat when you need it. Sometimes it’s just nice to talk. Poplar HARCA matches you with a friendly volunteer for a weekly chat, at a time that suits you. You can express interest online or call us on 020 7005 7608.

Tower Hamlets Mental Health Crisis Line

Free telephone support, 24 hours a day, seven days a week and includes information and advice about local mental health services from qualified mental health professionals.

Offers a range of free and confidential talking therapies and specialist support to help you feel better.

The Tower Hamlets mental health and recovery service. Accepts self referrals.
