Coronavirus Covid-19: Business tenants

We know your health and that of your family and staff, will be your primary concern at the moment.

We are also aware that trading is significantly affected by Government advice to stay at home. We want to do what we reasonably can to help all our traders because of the vital services they provide to our community. 

Shops re-opening 

With many non-essential shops allowed to reopen from 15 June, Chrisp Street traders can download guidance on how to work safely here.

Temporary suspension of credit control 

Poplar HARCA has temporarily suspended credit control activities, and we won’t charge interest on late payments.  

You will need to take decisions to protect your cash flow, your business and your staff.  You should check with your insurer about business interruption cover.  And please talk to us as soon as you are worried about your business finances.

Mayor of London

Pay It Forward - free crowdfunding platform where small businesses ask consumers to pay for goods and services in advance of being delivered, when restrictions are relaxed.

London Growth Hub - daily updates, free 1-2-1 support and more.

Culture at Risk Office – support for freelancers, artists, creative workers and the self-employed.

London Funders - with the Mayor of London and City Bridge Trust, London Funders has launches a new emergency fund for the voluntary sector.

More support

Allia - Building Resilient Businesses’ programme is for businesses operating or creating opportunities in east London and about managing the effects of COVID-19. 

Arts Council (ACE) – has made £160m of emergency funding available for organisations and projects.

Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) Emergency Fund – business support for smaller charities affected by Covid-19.

London Community Response Fund – groups responding to the needs of communities affected by the covid-19 pandemic can apply for a grant of up to £5K.

Social Entrepreneurs Programme - Lloyds Bank and the Bank of Scotland have reopened this programme for applications which includes grants, learning and mentoring.
