Inspire Poplar!

Do you have a skill to share with the local community? Would you like to lead a workshop, series of classes or have an idea for a new project? Yes?! Please complete the application form below and a member of the team will be in touch soon.

The application form is for our regular volunteering opportunities so please include the following information in your answers…

– details of your idea and if you have ever done it before

– what has inspired the idea

– what are you hoping to gain from the experience

This role allows you to build your CV and gain experience in delivery/facilitation.

Volunteers will be participating remotely online from their own home or at one of our community centres for recording. As some of our centres reopen we are will explore longer term partnerships with Poplar HARCA and its centre.

Due to current restrictions, the project/workshop would need to be delivered online via Zoom.

Ideally the class should be delivered weekday, and you should commit to delivering 4-6 sessions to allow consistent programming.

The volunteer will be supported on how to schedule each class and delivering the class online.

Who should we contact in an emergency?


Please provide contact details of two referees who are both willing to provide a character reference. This will involve answering questions on a range of topics from your strengths to areas for development and your time management. Unfortunately we cannot accept references from family or friends. If possible, at least one referee should know you from work, education or volunteering. There are lots of people suitable to provide references, if you are struggling to think of anyone suitable please get in touch and we can discuss your options.
