Piano Club Support Volunteer

Our weekly piano sessions are popular with both music enthusiasts and those wanting to learn a new skill. Support our piano instructor with running each session, ensuring each student feels they are receiving the attention they require. You don’t need to be an expert at playing the piano, but you do need to enjoy taking part in music related activities and supporting others.

 

Date & Time: Every Thursday 2-3pm

Location: St Pauls Way Community Centre

Description of tasks

  • Ensure that the room is set up and tidied away at the end of the session
  • Support the instructor with the general activities of the session
  • Create a non-judgemental and inclusive atmosphere
  • Provide 1-1 support for students
  • Monitor progress of students’ skill level
  • Plan a final assessment for each student to test their abilities

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We are looking for a friendly and committed volunteer who has a genuine interest in anything music related!

  • Good communication and speaking skills
  • Music related experience is desired
  • Demonstrate patience when supporting students
  • Good organisational skills to help plan a programme for future sessions alongside piano instructor
  • Fun, friendly and a people person
  • Enjoy bringing people together over a shared interest

Who should we contact in an emergency?

Please provide contact details of two referees who are both willing to provide a character reference. This will involve answering questions on a range of topics from your strengths to areas for development and your time management. Unfortunately we cannot accept references from family or friends. If possible, at least one referee should know you from work, education or volunteering. There are lots of people suitable to provide references, if you are struggling to think of anyone suitable please get in touch and we can discuss your options.
