The Felix Project Office Assistant Volunteer

The Felix Project is London's biggest food redistribution charity and the largest end-to-end food redistribution charity in Europe.

Their vision is a London where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted.

The Felix Project has just launched a new warehouse and its first social kitchen in Poplar, East London to deliver good food to charities, schools, and holiday programmes across Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham and more.
Without volunteers, they can't operate. Join their team to fight hunger and food waste in East London.

Admin Volunteer

This role involved helping with the smooth running of the office and dealing with queries from charities. Full training and support is provided.

Main responsibilities

  • Greeting visitors and volunteers as they arrive
  • Assisting with the volunteer database and rota 

 

Allocator Volunteer

This role involves allocating food from the warehouse to the organisations that we support using our food management system. Full training and support is provided.

Main responsibilities

  • Accurately using the food management system to allocate food
  • Liaising with warehouse staff concerning food allocations

  • Some previous administrative work is usual but not essential
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • An interest in food and cooking is useful but not essential
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • The ability to work well independently with good time management skills

 

  • The Felix Project provide all volunteers with a cooked lunch and reimburse the cost of travel/petrol.
  • Offer flexibility with tasks and work in line with their volunteer’s strengths.
  • Enrol into their Employability Programme for a 12 week course that provides you with meaningful hands-on experience and support with gaining paid employment.
