All Opportunities

The Felix Project Warehouse Volunteer

The Felix Project is London's biggest food redistribution charity and the largest end-to-end food redistribution charity in Europe.

Their vision is a London where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted.

The Felix Project has just launched a new warehouse and its first social kitchen in Poplar, East London to deliver good food to charities, schools, and holiday programmes across Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham and more.
Without volunteers, they can't operate. Join their team to fight hunger and food waste in East London.

Warehouse Roles

Driver

You will be responsible for visiting our suppliers to collect high-quality and nutritious food and delivering this food to our charities. This role will give you the opportunity to get out and about in London and see first-hand the impact the charity is having on people’s lives.

Main responsibilities:

  • Driving our vans safely and with due care and attention, mindful of other road users and complying with road safety rules and regulations.
  • Assisting with loading and unloading vans
  • Meeting suppliers and charities

Co-driver

This role will give you the opportunity to get out and about in London and see first-hand the impact the food you deliver has on people’s lives. As a co-driver, you will not be required to drive the vehicle (if you are not already registered as a driver with the charity).

Main responsibilities:

  • Help with loading and unloading the vans. When setting off from the depot, ensure you are familiar with what produce is to be delivered to which charity or school on your route, and its location in the van. This will enable speedier and more efficient drop-offs.
  • Navigating, which involves map reading and using Google Maps on a Smart phone.
  • Ringing charities and suppliers ahead of arrival

Warehouse Assistant

This role is a hands on practical role within a friendly team, with no day being the same!

Main responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading our vans
  • Sorting food according to date and type of food.
  • Preparing crates for food delivery
  • Cleaning the warehouse
