Cooking Content Contributor Volunteer

Are you passionate about food? Help someone to cook healthy and bake on a budget.

At Poplar HARCA, supporting our local communities, emotional wellbeing and physical health is important to us. As part of our community programming we have launched an online community platform are in need of a Volunteer Cooking Content Contributor to provide digital cooking resources to share.

As a Volunteer Cooking Content Contributor you will record yourself cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Our Communications and Digital Services team will provide you with video support.

This role is ideal for someone keen to develop their social media presence. As a volunteer you will be volunteering remotely or at one our community centres for recording. In the future there is opportunity to fulfil this role in-person delivering at one of our community centre.

*Volunteers will be participating remotely online from their own home.

Date/s: Monday – Thursday

Hours: 10am – 6pm (minimum 6 hours/ can be split over 2 days)


As a volunteer Cooking Content Contributor, you will need to:

  • Have a strong interest and ability in cooking/ baking
  • Be enthusiastic and confident
  • Be a self-starter who can work well independently
  • Be supportive, friendly and sensitive to others
  • Possess a positive attitude towards disability
  • Be flexible and creative
  • Be proactive and not afraid to get involved
  • Have access to the internet from home
  • Be proficient in IT
  • Own a recording device ( mobile phone, laptop or tablet)
  • Commit a minimum of 3 months volunteering with us

Who should we contact in an emergency?

If possible, at least one referee should know you from work, education or volunteering.
