Make your community’s voice heard

Do you have an idea about how Poplar HARCA can improve the way we work? How would you bring your community together? Joining an Estate Board could make your ideas a reality.

An Estate Board is a group of local residents who work with each other and Poplar HARCA to make sure resident voices are not only heard but influence your housing services. Being part of an Estate Board means you can kick start and deliver projects for your community too.

Sandra Chalmers, who recently stepped down from her role as Brownfield Estate Board Chair, worked alongside her neighbours for seven years. She says: “As residents, we wanted input into the regeneration which was happening on our estate. And we didn’t look back! We’ve run all sorts of events, from our Diamond Jubilee to pantomimes. And my favourite thing? Other residents saying how nice the estate is now. It’s a nice feeling being able to help your neighbours. And it’s fun. You get to meet loads of people.”

All Poplar HARCA residents are welcome to join an Estate Board. For more information contact Dave Tull, Estate Board Coordinator, on dave.tull@poplarharca.co.uk / 020 7510 0849.

A big thank you to Sandra for her time and energy working on the Brownfield Estate Board. For more, watch Sandra’s story here.
