We have been granted planning permission to transform Leaside Business Centre into 22 new homes and 600m2 of new commercial space.

Located at Gillender Street, new workspaces will sit within two existing Grade 2 listed buildings, alongside the 22 newly built homes. Once the development completes, the public will again be able to visit this historic site.

Features of the scheme include:

  • Historic site: Bromley Hall, one of the oldest brick building in London, was regularly visited by Henry VIII and has had lots of different uses over the years, including as a gunpowder factory and a textile printing workshop. The Old Poplar Library was built in the 1904 and is an important local landmark.
  • 22 new homes: Seven of these will be affordable homes including four for London Affordable Rent and three for shared ownership.
  • New workspace: 600m2 of commercial space.
  • Green spaces: Courtyard, seating areas, new trees and cycle parking.

This scheme is currently on hold whilst we look at sourcing external funding and securing a tenant for the commercial space.
