Our Sturry Street development, located on a quiet, residential street off East India Dock Road, will provide seven new affordable homes.

Four of the new homes will be for social rent and three properties in Plimsoll Close House, will be for shared ownership. They will be a mixture of flats and maisonettes, including three 1-bedroom, two 2-bedroom and two 3-bedroom properties.

The scheme involves the demolition of an existing bungalow at 16 Sturry Street, and the redevelopment of two 3 storey buildings.

Every new home will benefit from private balcony space and the immediate surrounding area will be landscaped. We will also create a play area between the two buildings for all residents to enjoy.

Residents living here have told us how much they like where they live, especially how quiet their neighbourhood is. We will make sure this development maintains the peaceful environment in Sturry Street.

The nearby Lansbury Estate is within a conservation area and the designs for this development will contain similarities to Palm Cottage, an existing grade II listed building that sits adjacent to this site.

Start on site is expected in autumn 2021 and completion in summer 2022.

“It is an extremely quiet neighbourhood and I’d like it to stay that way.”
