Housing Heroes Awards: Highly Commended for Frontline Team of the Year (under 10,000 homes)

Our Community Safeguarding team was recognised for their approach to helping residents with a hoarding disorder.

Evening Standard New Homes Awards: Best Regeneration Project

Our Bow Garden Square development won this award, in partnership with Telford Homes. The development has provided over 100 new homes, green spaces, a Mosque and a primary school. 

RESI Awards: Development of the Year

UK Housing Awards: Innovative Landlord of the Year

This was awarded for our Open Poplar project which has revolutionised the way Poplar HARCA thinks about and manages space.


Landscape Institute Awards: Design for a Medium-Scale Development

This was awarded to the Aberfeldy Phases 1 and 2 development project with Levitt Bernstein for providing more than 1,000 affordable homes set around new green spaces and using pedestrian and cycle strategies to break down the barriers of the A13 and A12 highways.

National Housing Awards: Highly Commended for Home Ownership Team of the Year

Our Home Ownership team were recognised for their approach to supporting leaseholders with income management.

HANA Awards: Highly Commended for Best Financial Change/Turnaround Programme

Our Home Ownership team fostered a new ethos around supporting leaseholders.

UKHA: Outstanding Approach to Income Management

Our Home Ownership team took the award for their exceptional work with our leaseholders.


SHIFT Awards: Best Sustainability Team

We were recognised for our multi-departmental approach to sustainability, with individuals from across the organisation working together to deliver Green schemes for Poplar

NHF: Community Impact Awards

Our Employment & Training team won the National Housing Federation's Investing In People Award in the Community Impact Awards, for their Future Moves project that helps young people move into work and achieve their aspirations.

Alan Cherry: Placemaking Award

Accents Director of Placemaking, Paul Augarde won the One to Watch Placemaking award.

Eurhonet CSR Awards: Local Social Sustainability

We won a European award for our 'You're a Champ' project which addresses fuel poverty and carbon emissions in our communities. The award recognises our innovative use of peer to peer education amongst staff and residents, and investment in sustainable technology.  

Housing Design Awards: Special School Mention

Our Development Team won the Special School Mention Award for the St. Paul’s Way Trust School expansion & Burdett Estate Regeneration, which uses housing to generate income and deliver local urban regeneration. 

Housing Excellence Awards: Social Landlord of the Year 

We were voted Social Landlord of the Year (under 10,000 homes) in recognition of our fantastic work creating opportunity for Poplar.

UKHA: Outstanding Innovation of the Year 

The Estate Services Team were awarded for their innovative use of our Underground Refuse System (URSs), transforming the look and feel of our estates.


Guardian Public Service Awards Transformation Winner 

The award recognises the innovative ways that our self-sustaining Accents team have engaged staff and the community as we move from "service provider to catalyst for change" as part of the social, cultural and economic regeneration of Poplar. 

24 Housing Awards Innovation of the Year

The Accents team were recognised for the Open Poplar project, which identifies and then fills underused space in our stock.

4th place in the Inside Housing Innovation Index 

For the second year running, the ideas and creativity of our staff culture have seen us ranked in the top four most innovative housing associations.

Women In Housing Awards

Accents Project Manager Francesca Colloca won the award for 'most effective project in improving the lives of women or communities' in recognition for her work on the Chrisp Street Exchange Programme. 


UKHA Outstanding Landlord of the Year 

Our commitment to creating opportunities in Poplar was recognised when we came away as overall winners from the UK Housing Awards, the most prestigious and well-respected awards in the social housing sector. 

BALI Awards  

The regeneration of the Brownfield Estate was a winner in the Hard Landscaping category. The challenging project was all constructed while the estate was occupied and involved high levels of resident liaison. The estate board commended the high quality of the work.

Community Impact Awards 

Our Energy Champion project won the Greener Living Award for its innovative, resident-led approach to community engagement. 



Our very own Brownfield Estate Board won the Resident and Community Award.

The Board, made up of local residents, worked closely with the Poplar HARCA ASB Team and was recognised for its outstanding work in building a safer, cohesive community.

Sustainable Housing Awards 

Continuing our winning green streak, in 2014 our resident Tom Gleed won Green Tenant of the Year. Tom was recognised for his work transforming the ‘Greening Brownfield’ community garden into a thriving, sustainable space for residents of the Brownfield Estate. Tom’s award was decided by public vote.


Sustainable City Awards 

We won in the ‘Greening the Third Sector’ category for demonstrating excellence in sustainable development.

Sustainable Housing Awards 

In 2013 we won Social Housing Provider of the Year. We’re committed to approaching the sustainability agenda as broadly as possible, shaping our own business as well as providing opportunities and support for local residents, across all parts of the sustainability spectrum.


Sustainable Housing Awards 

Poplar HARCA won two national Sustainable Housing Awards in 2012 for our contribution to making Poplar and Bow a more sustainable place to live.

The Sustainable Housing Partnership of the Year was awarded to us alongside Tower Hamlets Homes, Institute for Sustainability and Optimum Consultancy for the Eco Homes project which installed energy saving technology, previously unused on a domestic scale, into 16 households.

Poplar HARCA also won the Transformation Award for the redesign of Leopold Park, part of the regeneration effort of the Leopold Estate. This project transformed a previously unimaginative green space into a thriving children’s play area with an attractive water feature, and was greatly welcomed by local residents.                                               


ASB Action Net Award 

The ASB team won an Action Net award for effective support for victims and witnesses, creative use of legal remedies, alternatives to legal action, and use of supportive interventions to assist perpetrators to change their behaviour.
