I am passionate about supporting individuals and families in securing stable, affordable housing. As a Housing Officer I can make a tangible difference in people's lives by offering guidance, resources and advocacy.
As someone who grew up in Tower Hamlets, I understand the issues residents are experiencing. I want to make a difference and tackle antisocial behaviour to ensure a safer community for all residents..
We want to create great neighbourhoods for our residents and communities. We appreciate how important it is to keep them free from environmental issues. Our Estate Services team works hard to ensure that our estates are kept free from litter, rubbish and fly tips.
Environmental issues are reported to the Community Safety team and if offenders are identified we will deal with them. Individuals will be recharged the cost of the clearance and if the matter continues to happen, they may face tenancy action.
Creating a positive and safe community for all residents at Island Point is very important to us. Addressing concerns around antisocial behaviour and supporting young people in enjoying outdoor activities responsibly are key priorities for us.
To ensure everyone feels comfortable, we’ve introduced soft footballs to minimise disturbances, clarified misunderstandings about antisocial behaviour, and improved access to our policies online. We also partnered with Beyond the Bias to bring activities to the doorsteps of the young people in the area. Through initiatives like the Safer Together campaign, we’re taking meaningful steps to strengthen community safety and encourage cooperation among residents.
By law, all homes on communal heating must have heat meters where feasible. So, we are assessing our blocks and arranging installation of meters.
While the communal heating source remains the same, the billing method will change.
Your area is served with a communal plant room, where heating and hot water are produced centrally and delivered to multiple homes via insulated pipes, eliminating the need for individual boilers. Your heating bills are managed by a metering and billing agent who collect on behalf of Poplar HARCA or your energy supplier.
Find out more about heat networks and heat meters in our FAQS here
For Island Point residents, your energy supplier (who oversees the plant room) is Poplar HARCA.
Your metering and billing agent is Sycous.
