Stay safe and have a blast this firework season

27/10/2022

Are you excited to wrap up warm, huddle outdoors and watch the sky light up with colour? Because firework season is upon us!

We want you and your family to have fun during the festivities, but it’s important to remember that fireworks and bonfires can be dangerous.

The safest way to enjoy the celebrations is to go to a professionally organised public event. And there’s plenty of firework displays taking place all over London this November to get you in the sparkly spirit.

Here are our other top tips to help keep everyone safe:

  • Please don’t light fireworks or bonfires in your own home or garden
  • Look after your pets by keeping cats and dogs indoors
  • Remove any flammable items from your balconies, communal or outdoor spaces
  • Keep naked flames, including cigarettes, away from fireworks
  • If you’ve arranged a collection for a bulky item such as a fridge or mattress, only take it outside on the arranged day. If it’s not collected, please take it back indoors
  • Make sure to put rubbish bags fully inside your bins. Leaving them next to the bin is a fire risk

If you see anything you think is unsafe, please report it to us via MyHARCA or by emailing us at info@poplarharca.co.uk.  In an emergency, call 999.
