The Youth Empowerment Board is open for young people aged between 15 to 19 years (up to 25 yrs with SEND), from Poplar, Bow and neighbouring wards, who want to create real change in east London.
The Youth Empowerment Board’s (YEB) mission is to bring young people’s voices into the heart of our decision making and forms part of our official governance structure at Poplar HARCA.
There are big changes happening in and around Poplar and Bow over the next few years. Our YEB members, all from E3 and E14, are offering their ideas, feedback and inspiration to influence these changes.
Key areas of focus for the YEB are:
- Sustainability
- Local regeneration
- Working with our staff, Committees and Board.
In return, YEB members benefit from a range of opportunities, including:
- Having their say on things that matter to them
- Help to shape our youth offer at Spotlight
- Personal and professional growth
- A monthly meeting at different locations such as Canary Wharf and city of London with food and refreshments included
- YEB Away Day
- Trips to meet professionals from various sectors in their spaces, to gain further insight into their industry.
