People often tell us about tenants living somewhere else and illegally renting out their homes. They tell us because:

• they might be upset that someone is making money out of their tenancy
• the people living in the property often cause problems
• the property could have been offered to families on the housing list

If you find out that someone is illegally renting out their home, report it to us confidentially. We’ll handle the rest.

You can stay anonymous, and you might even receive £500 if we get the property back. By reporting, you are doing the right thing.

Tenancy fraud costs the taxpayer an estimated £42,000 per year, so it’s important we work together to tackle the issue and ensure the right homes go to the people who need them most.
