New funding for Teviot community

09/09/2022

The Teviot community can now apply for the Community Chest Fund, a new grant funding scheme for projects that will enrich the lives of local people.

  • The Community Chest Fund is open to social enterprises, community interest companies and registered charities.
  • Projects must include people who either live or work on Teviot and the surrounding area and meet one of twelve priorities set by the Teviot community including health and employment.
  • Every project or activity should make a positive impact and be of lasting benefit to the community.

Applications to the Community Chest Fund and all supporting documents should be sent by Monday 27 October 2022 to kellyplayer@hill.co.uk.

Applicants will be notified if they have been successful no later than the end of November 2022.

For further information and to download an application form, please visit the Teviot Commonplace website via the button on this webpage.

The Community Chest Fund is among a range of pledges put forward by The Hill Group when it was selected to deliver the regeneration of Teviot. Since then, we’ve been working with Hill in partnership with Teviot residents on a range of social value projects which intend to positively transform people’s lives.

Alongside delivering lasting social value, the Teviot partnership has ambitions to deliver over 1,750 new homes, new green and play spaces, shops, community and faith facilities, and improved infrastructure.

“The Community Chest Fund Grant is an excellent route for local groups to get their ideas off the ground or supplement existing proposals with funding. This initiative promises to make a tangible difference to people’s lives through community action across a range of areas and is a great example of engaging local residents on the estate. We strongly encourage any local groups with suitable projects to put them forward.”

Babu Bhattacherjee, our Director of Community and Neighbourhoods

“The community is at the heart of our plans for Teviot. Through The Community Chest Fund we can support a range of projects that will improve the lives of local residents in parallel with our regeneration plans as they come to fruition. As part of our engagement process with Teviot residents, we have already witnessed what an incredibly creative and engaged community lives here and we are looking forward to seeing the range of applications that are submitted.”
