Snow Much Fun for Aberfeldy Residents

14/12/2023

Aberfeldy residents celebrated the festive season with a blizzard of free entertainment at the annual ‘Snow Much Fun’ event.

In partnership with Aberfeldy Street traders and our regeneration partners EcoWorld London, we welcomed the local community to Aberfeldy Square, with free activities such as a giant snow globe, Christmas crafts, a winter market, hot drinks and even a roaming Santa!

Local favourites, The People Speak, created a brilliant atmosphere with festive tunes and games and competitions for all the family to enjoy.

Aberfeldy Street based Roots Barbers hosted a chair in the square, dishing out the freshest trims in east London!

There were also fantastic stalls from More Life Home, the Aberfeldy Knit and Natter group and Poplar HARCA Community Carbon Champions.

It was a real community effort, with London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, treating families to a doll and scrunchie making activity and further activities were put on by Poplar HARCA’s brilliant Communities team.

Aberfeldy Community Cycles were also offering toddler cycle rides and a sample of affordable bikes for sale. All this was alongside delicious refreshments from the Café in the Feldy, Almari Coffee and the RTG Kitchen.

Snow Much Fun was a celebration of what has been delivered so far in Aberfeldy by the regeneration partnership.

The brand new Feldy community centre, which was opened this year, was full of activities and groups making the most of everything this state-of-the-art facility has to offer.

The Matchbox Nursery, which opened in September, hosted a stay and play session for little ones and the Aberfeldy Practice were also on hand to offer advice on healthy living and wellness, in the space which is shortly set to be their new surgery. A new food shop, pharmacy, café and deli are set to follow soon.

More about Aberfeldy regeneration
“It was great to see everyone come together and enjoy the event, despite the rain. One resident was particularly taken with our Karak Chai, so much so that she immediately called her husband to join us!

“Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate the opening of our café next year. We can’t wait to create more opportunities for meaningful conversations with local residents over a cup of coffee.”
