Rabea

Healthcare Horizons participant

Rabea took part in a programme called Healthcare Horizons. It combines accredited training in Common Health Conditions and training in employability skills with access to apprenticeships within the NHS.

“Before I started on the Healthcare Horizons programme I had been unemployed for over 6 months. I was lacking confidence when it came to finding the job I wanted, as I didn’t have the qualifications and experience necessary for the NHS, but this is where I really wanted to end up.

The programme has helped me in two different ways. Getting a Level 2 qualification in Common Health Conditions has given me really useful and relevant knowledge for the NHS, and the employability skills training has improved my ability and confidence in applying for jobs, attending interviews, and public speaking.

The team at The Hive and Aidan from Barts Health supported me a great deal. They helped me prepare for the programme and apply for jobs after it finished. I’ve also been seeing an employment advisor, Mohammad, at The Hive, who I see on a one-to-one basis to receive help amending my CV, identifying good job opportunities, completeing applications and preparing for interviews.”
