CCTV course
Would you like to gain a CCTV licence to work in the Security Industry? This FREE course is your path to that.
When you complete this course, you’ll earn:
- Highfields L2 Award for CCTV Operators (Public Space Surveillance) in the Private Security Industry
The full course is free. Upon successful completion we will also pay for your CCTV licence.
The course is delivered over 3 days. Full attendance is mandatory.
What you’ll learn
This qualification covers:
- the main characteristics of the private security industry
- the importance of safe working practices
- drug-misuse legislation
- the purpose of CCTV systems
- surveillance techniques
- producing evidential documentation
Eligibility criteria
To join, you must:
- be 18-24 years old
- live in Tower Hamlets
- have the right to live and work in the UK
- not be on a student or care visa
- not be in education or training
- be unemployed and not on benefits
- provide the correct ID documents: 1 from group A and 2 from group B (see details here)
- provide documents if you’ve had mental health issues involving compulsory detention or other measures in the last five years (we can help explain what’s needed)
- pass a criminal records check (you can check eligibility with the SIA’s criminal record indicator)
- score at least Level 1 on an English assessment, which we’ll conduct
