SIA Training Course
Are you 18-24 years old, unemployed and not in education, and living in Tower Hamlets? Then this course is your chance to gain a free SIA licence and start your journey into the security industry.
When you complete this course, you’ll also earn:
- First Aid at Work qualification
- NCFE Level 1 Award in Employability Skills
- L2 BTEC Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry
Upon successful completion and provided that you meet all the requirements, your licence will be paid for by us.
Please ensure that you are committed to complete this course. If you drop out and fail to provide a valid reason, you may be liable to pay a fee.
Dates:
10 – 14 of August (9:30 – 4:30 pm) and 17 – 24 August (9am – 6pm)

What you’ll learn
You will cover the following units:
- understanding mindset
- understanding motivation
- problem solving at work
- writing a CV
- first aid at work
- principles of working in the private security industry
- principles of working as a door supervisor in the private security industry
- application of conflict management in the private security industry
- application of physical intervention skills in the private security industry
Eligibility criteria
To join, you must:
- be 18-24 years old
- live in Tower Hamlets
- be unemployed, including NOT working on a zero hour contract
- have the right to live and work in the UK
- not be on a student or care visa
- not be in education or training
- provide the correct ID documents: 1 from group A and 2 from group B (see details here)
- be physically fit enough to complete physical intervention training and work as a door supervisor
- provide documents if you’ve had mental health issues involving compulsory detention or other measures in the last five years (we can help explain what’s needed)
- pass a criminal records check (you can check eligibility with the SIA’s criminal record indicator)
- score at least Level 1 on an English assessment, which we’ll conduct
