Innovative Exhibition Unveiled at New Aberfeldy GP Practice

26/11/2024

The Aberfeldy Practice is hosting a unique work in progress exhibition as part of the innovative ‘Knitting the Air’ project, showcasing never-before-seen knitted pieces based on air quality data.

This event is being held in the Practice’s brand-new health and wellbeing space, made possible through the regeneration of Aberfeldy Village.

This pop-up exhibition features three months of newly created knitted data, inviting visitors to explore the impact of air quality on health and wellbeing.

The Aberfeldy Practice has been a huge supporter of the Knitting the Air project from the start. Staff have been a driving force in efforts to turn data into a meaningful art piece that connects people with important health topics.

The exhibition is free and open to all. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn about the importance of air quality, see the Practice’s new space and join the conversation around creating healthier communities.

Visitors can also learn more about a new knitting community project, creating knitted covers for children’s asthma spacers. This new strand of work will raise awareness about the link between asthma and air quality and is being run in partnership with NHS asthma nurses.

This is an opportunity to explore the Practice’s services and meet the team who have been instrumental in making this project a success. Aberfeldy residents can also sign up to the new practice.

More about Aberfeldy regeneration
Clean air is one of the building blocks of health. We have always been aware that our patients have been breathing poor air and we know that our community suffers from worse health because of it. Our practice team has really enjoyed contributing to the project. We love knitting but we are also pleased to be raising awareness about air quality for our patients and our community.
