National award celebrates our work helping people learn, thrive, and connect

17/11/2025

Our team has bought home the Stronger Communities Award at the Get the Nation Learning Awards! Tanzeem Ahmed, Asistant Director of Employment and Training, Babu Bhattacherjee, Chief Communtities Officer, and Momtaz Ajid, our Board Member, collected it on behalf of everyone involved.

The award celebrates our community-first approach to learning and shows how a housing and regeneration association can help people gain skills, confidence, and connection.

Building thriving neighbourhoods

We want our communities to be places where people feel safe, valued, and connected – and we understand that learning is a big part of that. Our team works with residents including care leavers, older adults, and people with additional needs, in spaces they already trust like community centres, food banks, and drop-ins.

In the past year alone, our programmes have:

  • helped 711 people gain 847 new qualifications
  • supported 250 local people to find jobs
  • helped 146 adults get online and improve their digital skills
  • provided 69 people who didn’t have access to technology with a laptop or tablet

Learning that changes lives

One learner, Sebastian, arrived in the UK with little English and no job. After joining The Hive, our Employment and Training hub, he built confidence, gained hospitality skills, and is now working as a chef locally.

“I am incredibly grateful to The Hive and the Well-Grounded team for their guidance, support, and the opportunity that helped me establish a new beginning.”

Sebastian
