Spotlight #GetCreative Volunteer

As a #GetCreative volunteer, you will support young people in exploring various creative programmes developing skills in music, media, visual arts and design, dance and theatre.

Our #GetCreative strand runs youth programmes across the year, including projects such as Make It Mondays (Fashion & Art) ,Music Studio, Hip Hop Dance, Youth Theatre and more.

Your supervisor for this role will be the #GetCreative Lead at Spotlight.

Location: 

All sessions will take place in person at Spotlight, 30 Hay Currie St, E14 6GN. 

What will you do? 

  • Assist in running creative workshops in areas such as music, media, visual arts and design, dance and theatre. 
  • Share creative skills and encourage young people to develop their own talents 
  • Help prepare materials and equipment for sessions 
  • Support young people in developing creative projects 
  • Assist with exhibitions, performances or showcases of young people’s work 
  • Create a supportive environment that encourages creative expression regardless of ability

Please note that for this role you will have to be at least 19 years of age. As part of our safer recruitment process you will also need to complete an enhanced DBS check (which we will cover the cost for) and provide two references. 

Suggested time commitment: 

  • A minimum of 2 hours per week (sessions typically take place on weekday evenings, but times alter during school holidays) 
  • Initial 3 month commitment with opportunity to continue
