Spotlight #GetSupported Volunteer

As a #GetSupported volunteer, you will support young people by providing guidance, listening support, and mentorship to young people facing challenges or seeking personal development opportunities.

Our #GetSupported strand runs youth programmes across the year, including activities such as Girls Club, Spotlight on You and Dinner Time.

Your supervisor for this role will be the #GetSupported Lead at Spotlight.

Location: 

All sessions will take place in person at Spotlight, 30 Hay Currie St, E14 6GN. 

What will you do? 

  • Build trusting relationships with young people through attending programme activities 
  • Support young people in setting and achieving personal goals 
  • Work with youth workers to identify appropriate resources and referrals 
  • Help deliver group workshops on areas such wellbeing, life skills and resilience 
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries while being approachable and supportive 
  • Support to deliver baseline and coaching plan reports

Please note that for this role you will have to be at least 19 years of age. As part of our safer recruitment process you will also need to complete an enhanced DBS check (which we will cover the cost for) and provide two references. 

Suggested time commitment: 

  • A minimum of 2 hours per week (sessions typically take place on weekday evenings, but times alter during school holidays) 
  • Initial 3 month commitment with opportunity to continue
