What happens after you report antisocial behaviour

Here you can find out more about what happens after you report antisocial behaviour to us, and the different ways we might offer help and support.

When you report antisocial behaviour (ASB) to us:

  • We will review your report and agree next steps with you
  • You will have a Community Safety Officer as your point of contact
  • We may ask for evidence (for example, recordings or witness information)
  • We will keep you updated on progress

Where possible, we aim to resolve issues early through conversation and mediation.

We may not be able to take formal action without enough evidence linking the behaviour to an individual

How to report antisocial behaviour

What we can do to help

Depending on the situation, we may:

  • Offer advice and support
  • Issue warnings to those causing problems
  • Arrange mediation to resolve disputes
  • Agree behaviour agreements
  • Work with the Police, Council, or other partners
  • Refer individuals to support services

If needed, we may take legal action, such as applying for an injunction. Your Community Safety Officer will talk you through your options and support you if this is required.

Need more help?

If you’ve reported an ongoing issue and feel it has not been resolved, you can request an antisocial behaviour case review (previously known as the Community Trigger) through Tower Hamlets Council.

This is for situations where problems have been reported multiple times but you’re not happy with the service you’ve received.
