Database Administration Volunteer

We are looking for a Database Administration Volunteer to help grow and strengthen our communication impact. This is a good opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in a busy office setting.


As a Data Administration Volunteer you will use our database to input and extract information to help create target communication. You will be volunteering with the Communications and Digital Service teams within Community Development and Wellbeing.

Your volunteer responsibilities will include:

  • Creating a segmented SMS communication data base from existing
  • Liaising with Poplar HARCA resident and centre service users seeking updated consent
  • Creating a communication questionnaire as a basis for filtering
  • Adhering to and working within General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) framework
  • To work within Poplar HARCA’s policies and procedures.

As a Database Administration Volunteer, you will need to:

  • Have academic or professional experience in data science
  • Be adept at problem solving
  • Have strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Access
  • Have an interest in communication
  • Be self-motivated with a keen eye for detail
  • Have good written and spoken English
  • Own the ability to project manage effectively, achieving clearly defined outcomes and timelines
  • Enjoy working in a changeable environment
