Meet your team

Housing Officer Michael Fray
I enjoy speaking with residents to get a personal understanding of the concerns and objectives within the community. Giving residents a voice is essential to making a safe and inclusive environment for all.
Rents Officer Shah Mohammad Hoque
I can make a direct, positive impact on residents’ lives by ensuring access to stable housing and fostering a stronger and more connected community
Community Safety Officer Nadia Gaffar
I enjoy helping residents resolve antisocial behaviour issues. Being from the area, I understand the ongoing issues in Tower Hamlets, and I can relate to residents which allows me to tackle the reoccurring ASB that we face in the area.

Neighbourhood priorities

Drug use in communal areas

To address drug dealing on estates, we:

  • collaborate with authorities: partnering with local police, increasing patrols, and using surveillance to monitor illegal activity. We encourage residents to contact the Police or contact Crime Stoppers to report anonymously
  • build community engagement: building trust with tenants, educating residents about spotting and reporting drug dealing
  • develop environmental design: improving lighting, securing entryways, maintaining properties, and using CCTV to deter criminal behaviour
  • provide tenant support: offering referrals to addiction support and signposting to where they may access help
  • enforce tenancy agreements: if the same individuals are perpetrating antisocial behaviour continually we will take legal action, including eviction, for drug-related violations
  • look at data and intelligence: tracking hotspots and using reports from residents and Police to target resources
  • work on youth and diversion programmes: our Safeguarding Interventions Manager will work with young people and partner agencies to deter young people from engaging in drug dealing

Investing in your area

New Welcome Hub opens its doors

In partnership with Bromley by Bow Centre, we have opened a new Welcome Hub for residents on East India Dock Road. You can pop in and chat to the Welcome Hub team for help and advice. There’ll also be a regular programme of activities and workshops such as money management, energy advice, plus wellbeing sessions like embroidery, arts and crafts, and coffee mornings.

Heat Meter billing

Grundy Street energy supplier & billing agent

If you live in the following blocks:

  • 48 – 62 Grundy Street
  • 64 – 74 Grundy Street

Your area is served with a communal plant room, where heating and hot water are produced centrally and delivered to multiple homes via insulated pipes, eliminating the need for individual boilers. Your heating bills are managed by a metering and billing agent who collect on behalf of Poplar HARCA.

Your energy supplier (who oversees the plant room) is Poplar HARCA, your metering and billing agent is Ista.
