Injunction against repeat parking offender

15/10/2020

We successfully obtained an injunction against a resident causing persistent problems parking at Island Point.

At a court hearing last week, the resident was banned from parking anywhere in the Island Point development, and ordered to pay £1,000 in costs.

Illegal parking impacts on ambulance, fire brigade and police emergency access putting lives at risk.  It also means bins can’t be collected so rubbish is left to pile up.

Andrea Baker, Director of Housing and Corporate Services said: “We want all residents to enjoy where they live.  They can’t do that if selfish drivers park wherever they want.

“Legal proceedings were a last resort when warnings were ignored.  Social landlords don’t have legal powers to ticket, clamp or tow cars so we’re pleased the Court agreed with us that this anti-social behaviour should be penalised.”
