Save money with new extractor fans and LED lights

21/03/2025

Spring is upon us, but it doesn’t mean mould and damp can’t develop in your home - especially if there’s too much moisture in the air from cooking, showering, or other everyday activities. To help with this, our team has been installing extractor fans and LED lights to keep your homes and buildings, dry, and energy-efficient - which also helps save money on energy bills.

Keeping moisture under control

Extractor fans help remove steam and stop damp from building up. The new environmentally friendly extractor fans in kitchens and bathrooms work automatically to keep air flowing.

They work by:

  • running on a low power setting all day to stop moisture from building up
  • switching to boost mode to remove steam faster when you cook or shower
  • always being on. They can’t be turned off and will be working to keep your home fresh
  • costing about £20 a year to run… that’s less than £2 per month to run both the kitchen and bathroom fan

These fans help prevent damp, mould, and bad smells, making your home healthier.

Energy-saving and hassle-free lights

We’ve also been working on installing energy-saving LED lights to make homes brighter and cut down on electricity costs.

  • No more changing bulbs – LED lights last much longer
  • If your LED light stops working, we’ll replace it for free within 5 years (installation costs may apply)
  • Each LED light costs around £20 a year to run – that’s half the cost of older bulbs, which typically cost around £43 a year
  • We only install Tamlite LED lights, including Bathroom Round Bulkheads and Kitchen Battens (5ft in length). Old halogen bulbs are no longer available.

With better ventilation and energy-efficient lighting, your home will stay drier, brighter, and cheaper to run.
