Stay safe and have a blast this firework season

24/09/2024

As the nights get colder and the sky lights up, it’s time to wrap up, head out, and enjoy the vibrant displays! With Diwali, Bonfire Night, and Halloween approaching, excitement is in the air– but so is the need for safety.

We want you to have fun during the festivities. But it’s important to remember to do this safely.

The safest way to enjoy the celebrations is to go to a professionally organised public event. Here are some of the events taking place across London.

Other top tips to help keep you and your loved ones safe:

  • don’t light fireworks or bonfires in your own home or garden
  • look after your pets by keeping cats and dogs indoors
  • remove any combustible items from your balconies, communal or outdoor spaces
  • keep naked flames, including cigarettes, away from fireworks
  • if you’ve arranged a collection for a bulky item such as a fridge or mattress, only take it outside on the arranged day. If it’s not collected, please take it back indoors
  • make sure to put rubbish bags fully inside your bins. Leaving them next to the bin is a fire risk
  • no fires or fireworks on shared and communal green spaces
