Dementia speech and language therapy through singing.
Singing is a simple way to bring people together, especially for those affected by dementia. These sessions, delivered in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society, take place in a relaxed and friendly setting, focusing on familiar songs that people know and enjoy, helping everyone feel comfortable and included.
Alongside the singing, gentle vocal exercises support breathing, help with swallowing, and strengthen the muscles in the mouth. Singing also activates different parts of the brain, which can help keep the mind active and engaged.
Sessions are delivered monthly:
- 5 May
- 2 June
- 7 July
