CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice
Progress your career in housing
From October 2026, the Social Housing (Regulation) Act requires senior housing staff to hold, or be working towards, a professional housing qualification. If you work in housing, whether in a paid or voluntary role, this course is a great opportunity to build your skills, gain a recognised qualification, and take the next step in your career.
It’s ideal if you’re looking to progress to a Level 4 qualification or move into frontline or senior housing roles.

- Customer service in housing
- Dealing with antisocial behaviour in housing
- Homelessness services and prevention
- Housing repairs and maintenance services
- Occupancy, tenure and lettings
- Professional practice skills for housing
- Rental income management
- The housing system
Course delivery:
- Delivered through interactive online workshops
- One-to-one tutor support available throughout the course
- One written assignment per unit
- Eligible to apply for Chartered Membership of the CIH on successful completion
Eligibility:
To join the course, you’ll need:
- Recent experience in the housing sector
- A minimum Level 2 result in an English assessment
