Level 2 Award in Digital and IT Skills

This qualification is for people who want to build on their digital skills. This will help prepare you for employment in different roles in a range of different sectors.

 

Course details

This is a Gateway Qualifications Level 2 Award in Digital and IT Skills.

On this course you will complete two units:

Word Processing Software:  this unit will develop your ability to maximise the tools available in word-processing software to prepare, process and produce a wide range of sophisticated and professional documents accurately and efficiently.

Presentation Software:  this unit will develop your understanding of presentation software and how to create effective presentations for different purposes and audiences. You will also learn about inclusive design and how to apply techniques to ensure presentations are accessible.

Beginning September 2026.

By completing this course, you’ll gain access to free employment support. You will work one-on-one with an employment advisor to:

• improve your CV
• search and apply for jobs
• prepare for interviews
• and more!

Where can this course take me?

This will help prepare you for employment in roles in the creative and digital industries, but is also designed for job roles in other industries where specific digital skills are required, such as finance, marketing, manufacturing, and more.

After this, you may decide to go onto a Level 2 certificate or diploma, or even higher onto a Level 3 qualification.

Eligibility 

To join this course, you must meet all of the following criteria:

• live in London
• have the right to live and work in the UK
• be 19 years old or older as of 31 August 2026
• not be in full-time education
• not be on a student visa, skilled worker, or sponsored visa
• be unemployed or low income (earning below £28,860 per annum)
