Course overview

From October 2026, the Social Housing (Regulation) Act requires senior housing staff to hold, or be working towards, a professional housing qualification.

This qualification is ideal for supervisors and managers within the housing sector who have completed a CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice (or equivalent) and are ready to progress onto the next level.

You will develop advanced knowledge and skills in areas of housing policy, law, customer focus, and professional practice.

Managing People, Teams and Change
Professionalism in Housing
Resident Involvement in Housing

Course delivery:

This is an online course
Delivered on a one-to-one basis with the tutor
Assessed via one written assignment per unit
Begin as soon as you have made the payment
Eligible to apply for Chartered Membership of the CIH on successful completion

Eligibility:

To join the course, you’ll need:

To be working in housing or a related sector, preferably at a management or supervisory level
A minimum Level 2 result in an English assessment
To have completed either a CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice, or an equivalent Level 3 qualification
Be able to demonstrate an understanding of all the learning outcomes to achieve each unit of study within the qualification
