Tenants must give our subcontractors access for an annual gas check to keep your household, and your neighbours, safe.

By law, we must carry out a gas safety check every year in all tenanted homes where there are gas appliances, a gas meter, or live gas pipework.

Faulty gas appliances and gas installations can be dangerous. If they’re not checked regularly, they can produce carbon monoxide, a poisonous gas that can cause serious illness and can be fatal.

We’ll contact you each year by email, phone, or letter to arrange your annual gas safety check. You can also email us to book an appointment.

  • If you’re a tenant, report boiler repairs and issues with gas appliances to our Repairs team.
  • If you’re a leaseholder, it’s your responsibility to arrange an annual gas safety check and any repairs through a Gas Safe registered engineer.
  • If you rent out your leasehold property, visit the Gas Safe Register for information and advice for landlords.

To report a boiler repair, email repairsteam@poplarharca.co.uk.
