Residents celebrate move to new affordable homes

Tower Hamlets residents have been celebrating moving into new affordable homes at Poplar Riverside.

Poplar Riverside is one of east London’s most exciting regeneration projects. Delivered in partnership with Berkeley Homes, these 219 new affordable homes for local residents form a key part of the first phase of the development, which in total will deliver 643 affordable homes across four buildings.

The new residents were visited by partnership stakeholders, to hear first-hand their experiences of moving to these brand-new properties.

A substantial amount of the new development is dedicated to green space, the transformation will provide a 2.5-acre public park with an adventure and nature playground for children to explore alongside a 500m riverside walkway.

Poplar Riverside will also bring approximately 90,000 sq ft of commercial space, including the recently opened Sainsbury’s food store- firmly establishing a new hub for the local community.

The development boasts 96 shared ownership properties, which gives the opportunity for more local people to get on the housing ladder and own one of these beautiful new homes.
