Teviot Compulsory Purchase Order

The legal process to unlock the exciting regeneration of the Teviot estate is underway.

  1. The Teviot Estate Regeneration Scheme is being undertaken by Teviot Estate Developments LLP (“Teviot LLP”) a joint-venture partnership between Poplar HARCA (HARCA) and The Hill Group (“Hill”). The scheme will be delivered in 4 phases over a 15-year period. Delivering 1,928 new homes as the max parameter with 1,886 homes as the current forecast to be confirmed when each phase is designed in detail and a planning application is submitted.
  2. The proposed redevelopment of the Teviot Phase 1 site comprises a residential-led mixed-use development and is intended to deliver 475 new homes, flexible commercial business and service floorspace, hard and soft landscaping works including public open space, access and highway alterations and car and cycle parking provision. The redevelopment of the Teviot Phase 1 site forms the first phase of, and is expected to act as a catalyst for, the regeneration of the wider Estate, delivering economic, social and environmental benefits to the community. The Scheme will deliver both a qualitative and quantitative housing gain, as well as public open space to serve the local community.
  3. The Council has made a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO), which will now be submitted to the Secretary of State for their consideration.  A CPO is a legal process that allows the Council to acquire land interests by compulsion where it has not been possible to agree a voluntary purchase.  Notices have been served on all parties with a land interest, site notices have been erected and notices will be published in the local press in order to widely publicise the making of the CPO.
