We want your home to feel warm and comfortable, and to be easier and cheaper to heat. That’s why we’re investing in a large programme of energy efficiency and retrofit works. Retrofit means upgrading existing homes so they use less energy and hold on to heat for longer.
Our goal for 2030
We’re working towards an important goal. By 2030, we want all homes to reach an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of C or above.
An EPC rates how energy efficient a home is, from A for the most efficient to G for the least. The higher the rating, the more energy efficient the home is.
Improvements your home could get
Depending on what your home needs, you may benefit from improvements like:
- low-energy lighting to help reduce energy use
- wall and loft insulation to help keep your home warmer for longer
- better ventilation to reduce damp, mould and condensation and support a healthier home
- better heating and hot water controls, so you can manage how you use energy
- other improvements to your home and the area around it that help make your block warmer and more sustainable
What this means for you
We want to help create homes that are warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, while supporting you to use less energy and reduce your bills where possible.
We know energy costs can be a worry. By improving how energy efficient homes are, we’re taking action to make them easier to heat.
Our energy efficiency and retrofit programmes are part of our longer-term investment in your home and your estate.
