Neighbourhood priorities

Pets

Many of our residents view their pets as beloved companions, and having pets can bring many benefits for physical and mental wellbeing. We promote animal welfare and support our residents in providing excellent care for their pets.

It’s important that pets are properly managed. In line with legal requirements, all cats and dogs must be microchipped.

We will address any issues that arise from pet ownership, such as pets causing disturbances, being aggressive, damaging property, or leaving messes in shared spaces.

Banned breeds

In the UK, it’s against the law to own certain types of dog. Whether your dog is a banned type depends on what it looks like, rather than its breed or name.

It’s a criminal offence to own or possess an XL Bully dog in England and Wales unless you have a valid Certificate of Exemption.

It’s against the law to:

  • sell a banned dog
  • abandon a banned dog
  • give away a banned dog
  • breed from a banned dog

If you believe that your neighbour or someone in the community is doing any of the above it is important that you report it to the Police online or call 101 if the dog is out of control.

Litter, rubbish and fly-tipping

We want to create great neighbourhoods for our residents and communities. We appreciate how important it is to keep them free from environmental issues.

Our Estate Services team works hard to ensure that our estates are kept free from litter, rubbish and fly tips.

Environmental issues are reported to the Community Safety team and if offenders are identified we will deal with them. Individuals will be recharged the cost of the clearance and if the matter continues to happen, they may face tenancy action.

Investing in your area

New facilities at Aberfeldy Square

We’ve transformed Aberfeldy Square into a place that works for our community, with new shops, cafés, a GP surgery, pharmacy and nursery. The Feldy community centre also provides much‑needed hub for local activities and support. Since opening, we’ve been working to bring the square to life with a programme of events, from summer and winter celebrations to a regular Sunday market where neighbours can meet, connect and support local businesses.

The next phase of Aberfeldy regeneration begins

We’re moving forward with the next stage of development as part of the Aberfeldy regeneration. This exciting step will deliver more affordable homes, new shops and services, and improved public spaces. Every detail has been shaped by what matters most to you.

Heat Meter billing

Aberfeldy energy suppliers & billing agents

Some blocks on Aberfeldy are served with a communal plant room, where heating and hot water are produced centrally and delivered to multiple homes via insulated pipes, eliminating the need for individual boilers. For these blocks, the heating bills are managed by a metering and billing agent who collect on behalf of Poplar HARCA or your energy supplier.
