Michaela gets a foot on the property ladder in brand new shared ownership home
Hackney-local Michaela was living in rented house-shares before buying a shared ownership home at Jolles House. Shared ownership worked out to be cheaper than privately renting, giving her the opportunity to get on the property ladder and stay in East London, close to her family and where she grew up.

Resident Lisa and her son move into ‘dream home’ at Mollis House
Lisa Bajada has lived in Tower Hamlets all of her life, including in Poplar’s Aberfeldy Estate, Stepney and Bow. She and her son recently moved from a one-bedroom, second floor home in a block of flats near Roman Road to a two-bedroom, ground floor flat with a garden at Mollis House. Christmas comes early for Poplar HARCA’s elderly residents and dedicated volunteers
Every year, Poplar HARCA puts on a Christmas Lunch event for elderly residents with a Christmas dinner, musical performances and the infamous raffle. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the event couldn’t go ahead this year, so instead Poplar HARCA staff and dedicated volunteers brought Christmas cheer to elders’ doors on Thursday 17th December.
